CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Indians will open the 2019 season with three games in Minnesota beginning March 28 before coming back to Cleveland for the home opener at Progressive Field on April 1 against the Chicago White Sox. But the dates most Clevelanders will want to circle on their 2019 calendars are July 5-9. That’s when festivities surrounding the 90th All-Star Game will take place around town. Major League Baseball on Wednesday released the dates for its 2019 season that include an opening series between the Mariners and Athletics in Tokyo starting March 21. The Indians play six of their first nine games at home before embarking on a nine-game April road trip to Detroit, Kansas City and Seattle. Their longest homestand of the season takes place in May — an 11-game stretch against Baltimore, Oakland and Tampa Bay.
