Scott Mansch Great Falls Tribune Published 6:04 PM EDT Apr 4, 2019 When Danny Sprinkle was a young basketball-loving boy in Helena, his father took him to Bozeman’s Brick Breeden Fieldhouse for the first time. It was a basketball game in the National Invitation Tournament between host Montana State and the University of Washington. Bill Sprinkle, the superstar Great Falls Central athlete who went on to play football at UW, thought his son might fall for the Huskies. It didn’t happen. And now Danny, who starred at Helena High and went on to a brilliant career as a sharpshooting guard for Montana State, has returned to Bozeman as the Bobcats’ new head men’s basketball coach. And he hopes to restore the roar to Brick Breeden. “I really started dialing in on MSU when they started recruiting me when I was a sophomore in high school,” Sprinkle said Thursday in a text message. “I loved the excitement of the Fieldhouse with those early-90’s teams.
