It looks like Google AdSense has launched a new ad code type for publishers named Auto ads. I don't have much information on this beta outside of this help document and this WebmasterWorld thread. Now, you might think this is automobile related but I don't think it is. It seems like a method for Google to automatically place ads on your site without you having to do anything but add one piece of code to your page. It might pick the best location and type of ads based on your web site.Google wrote "to set up Auto ads, you first choose which ad formats you'd like to show across your entire site. These will be your "global preferences" for Auto ads. You can select from a range of ad formats. You then copy and paste the ad code on each page that you want your selected ad formats to appear."There is a new code set up that is required and it is unclear how well this will perform. But Google is letting you set up ways to track the performance including creating a custom groups o you can … [Read more...] about New Google AdSense Auto Ads Beta
The Google AdSense forum has begun lighting up with publishers complaining that their AdSense ads are no longer showing up on their web sites. There seems to be hundreds, if not in the thousands of complaints starting early this morning or last night.I don't see any response from Google yet and I am unsure if this is a bug or some sort of quality clean up on publishers. I personally am able to see AdSense ads on some sites, including the one ad unit I have on this site. There are also complaints of this on Twitter and other social networks. Again, I did not see any word from Google on this but here is a screen shot of just some of the complaint threads:Again, I see probably over 1,000 complaints across hundreds of threads about ads not loading or appearing on their websites.Do you have any issues?Forum discussion at Google AdSense Help.Update: Google is aware of the issue:Update 2: Many are now reporting as of around 1pm EST that their ads are showing up again.Update 3: Google sent … [Read more...] about Breaking: Google AdSense Stops Showing Ads For Many Publishers
The folks over at the WebmasterWorld forums are saying that Google AdSense is starting to roll out a new ad review center. The ad review center first launched back in 2008 as a way to allow publishers to better control which ads they do not want to show on their site. It has undergone several design tweaks over the years.Personally, I do not remember what it looked like before but this is what I see right now in the AdSense ad review center:NickMNS in the forums said "it seems that it is Google's roll-out new features day today." I am not sure if I personally have the new look but Nick said the layout is completely changed! Nick added:The ad units are now fully visible, so wide ads such as 724x90 ads are no longer cut-off, so that is good, they are easier to see without require a click. But the square ads are now smaller thus making the text harder to read, so not sure if this was great trade off. The block icon is now reduced to symbol and once you click on an ad they felt the … [Read more...] about Google AdSense Redesigns Ad Review Center?
