Doctors and nurses are similar to air, in that they’re vital, and you don’t miss them until you need them. If you’re in the pharma industry or manage a medical supply store that offers medical equipment to professionals (scrubs/uniforms, shoes, stethoscopes, otoscopes, blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeters and so on), medical professionals are the air you breathe and your organization’s lifeblood. Facebook offers a number of options to target healthcare professionals, from RNs to specialized nurses and surgeons, hospital administrators and beyond. In this week’s edition of the Psychographic Targeting Hot House, Lea Scudamore, Production Manager at aimClear, prescribes six targeting tactics to reach these compassionate audiences: from medical professionals on the front lines in the fight against breast cancer to hospital administrators seeking the latest screening equipment within their hospital’s budget. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, … [Read more...] about Medical Professional Targeting Diagnosis: Psychographic Hot House
For this reason, regional professional groups provide an excellent service to the search marketing industry at large by providing affordable, local options to learn from and network with peers on a regular basis. In addition, many of these groups do offer their members discount codes for national and global conferences like SMX – Search Marketing Expo & Conference Series. We’re thrilled to have these local and regional associations helping Search Engine Land spread the word about recognizing exceptional efforts in search marketing via our new awards program (#TheLandys). In addition to lending promotional support for the Search Engine Land Awards, each of these professional search marketing associations have agreed to participate in judging the “Pay It Forward” category, which recognizes an individual or an agency for: volunteer hours (or steeply discounted consulting rates) for digital marketing expertise committed to helping a non-profit/charitable … [Read more...] about Regional Associations Lend Support To Search Engine Land Awards
In May 2012, Google partnered with Ipsos OTX Media CT to get a better understanding of U.S. smartphone usage. Their study revealed that 94% of smartphone users have looked for local information, and 90% took action as a result (called the business, walked into a store, redeemed a coupon, etc). Also, 96% have researched a product or service on their phone. At around that same time, Myles Anderson discussed key findings from BrightLocal’s Local Consumer Review Survey — one of which was that 85% of consumers use the Internet to find local businesses. Your prospects are usually on the go and are looking for details on products to buy, places to patronize, events to attend and so forth. Mobile users in particular want the information they need at their fingertips, and they’ll select from the business with SERP visibility. What follows here is … [Read more...] about Crush The Competition With Hyper Local Listing Management!
In the good old days, if you called your family doctor or GP after office hours, you’d get the nice homily… “Take 2 aspirin and call me in the morning!” That approach works well in general practice because most common ailments can be cured by rest and sleep alone. So far my articles about technical SEO have focused on how to adjust a site’s configuration or architecture to make it more crawlable and indexable. In this post, I’m writing about the other end of the technical SEO process: using analytics data to analyze traffic and user behavior by keywords. When looking at keyword data, it’s important to group them by type. Looking at individual keywords is not only inefficient, but it will generally lead to information that is either misleading or worse, can’t be acted on. The most precise way to group keywords is by using regular expressions. Regular Expressions are strings containing letters, numbers, and special characters that match a specific word or group of words. Excellent tutorials for regular expressions are all over the Web, so I’m not going to include an overview here. Instead, I’ll present a few common recipes that I hope people will find useful and instructive. (Besides, because it has been … [Read more...] about Tricks For Taming Keywords With Regular Expressions
