This week in Germany world leaders gathered to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The tearing down of the Wall, a potent symbol of East German oppression since 1961, marked the end of one era and the start of a new one. Strange though it may sound, the tearing down of the Wall in 1989 was a significant influence on how we do search marketing in Europe today. When doing SEO in Europe, you are bound to run into some issues which that originated in some way from the fall of the Berlin Wall. European Search Awards To Be Held In Berlin In April 2015, Now Taking Entries
The European Search Awards, now going into their fourth year, have officially announced the location for the 2015 awards ceremony. The 2015 winners will be announced in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday 22 April, with many of the continent’s foremost digital and content marketers expected to be in attendance. The awards opened for entries at the end of last month, and will be delivered in association with SEMPO, the industry’s trade association, SEJ, and a number of other sponsors. Yahoo! Expanding Dublin Operations & New York Data Center
Yahoo! announced expansion plans to their Dublin, Ireland operations center and their data and customer care facility located in Lockport, New York. More than 200 employees will be added over the next 12 months in Dublin to support business operations in the Europe, Middle Eastern and Africa (EMEA) region. The Lockport facility intends to add 115 new jobs. In a statement released by Yahoo!, Ireland’s Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, confirmed that the expansion will more than double Yahoo!’s existing Dublin workforce, stating, “Today’s announcement that Yahoo!, one of the biggest brand names on the Internet, is expanding its operations in Dublin and more than doubling its workforce here in the creation of 200 jobs is great news and further evidence that the [Government’s Action Plan for Jobs] is working.
