10 Marketing Campaigns That Won Over reddit

It didn’t take Reddit very long to become known as “the front page of the Internet.” During its decade of existence, Reddit has surpassed 169 million unique visitors and 7.55 billion pageviews each month. However, brands are still cautious when it comes to marketing on Reddit because they don’t believe the traffic will convert. Another reason why brands are a bit skeptical when it comes to marketing on Reddit is that they are dealing with a unique audience that isn’t afraid to ask difficult questions and isn’t too fond of marketing – just look back at some of the AMAs that have gone wrong. That doesn’t mean big brands haven’t tried to give Reddit marketing a go by either adding to the discussions on subReddits or by going the paid advertisement route. In fact, here are ten campaigns launched by a variety of brands that prove when done correctly, Reddit can be a major assist for brands. 1. Nissan With the exception of the disastrous … [Read more...] about 10 Marketing Campaigns That Won Over reddit

Microsoft Takes Its ‘Bing It On’ Campaign To The UK, Where Google Has Royal Grip On Search

The company this week launched its “Bing It On” campaign in the UK, inviting searchers to compare its search results directly against Google’s. Microsoft is challenging Google’s seemingly unassailable status as the king of search there. Google, which has an estimated 65 percent of the US search market share, has an even tighter grip in the UK, with an estimated market share between 85 and 90 percent. But Microsoft seems to be undaunted by that. In launching Bing It On this week, the company pointed to a recent study of 1,000 British adults which skewed in Bing’s favor: Despite having used Google’s own top queries, after carrying out 10 searches, 53% of people surveyed picked Bing search results more often, 34% of people picked Google results more often, and 13% of people chose Bing and Google results an equal number of times. For the stats geeks, the margin of error is +/- 3% at a 95% confidence level. Even when you compare it by query, Bing was … [Read more...] about Microsoft Takes Its ‘Bing It On’ Campaign To The UK, Where Google Has Royal Grip On Search

Why Enhanced Campaigns Aren’t Really An Upgrade Or Improvement

I am absolutely fascinated by the automotive industry and am admittedly a car guy. The newest cars continually impress me because every new model seems like a significant upgrade over the previous model. And, they really are. New cars are lighter, stronger, more spacious, safer, more fuel efficient, and quicker than ever. A 2013 Mazda hatchback that costs a mere $30,000 is quicker than the (then) $180,000 Supercars from Italy I grew up idolizing. Astonishing, really. The term “upgrade” often seems like an understatement. So, what happens if the new models are not better? Thankfully, we need not speculate because the American automotive industry managed to spend over a decade rolling out one terrible car after another. Very few were competitive and some were worse than the models they replaced. They all nearly closed shop. It was a tough few years in Michigan. It is safe to say that failing to improve your product is bad for business, right? Right. Google AdWords Unveils … [Read more...] about Why Enhanced Campaigns Aren’t Really An Upgrade Or Improvement

Seven tools to help you run multichannel digital marketing campaigns

With exponential changes in the marketing landscape over the last decade, Marshall McLuhan’s proclamation “The medium is the message” has gained new meaning. Faced with a constant deluge of information and brand messaging, it has become a necessity for companies to be in front of customers’ eyes more than ever before, thanks to perpetual connectivity. A strong multichannel marketing campaign uses a combination of direct and indirect means of communication to reach a broad target audience. In turn, customers are encouraged to take action through the channel of their choice. At the end of the day, multichannel marketing is all about options. There’s no denying that customers these days have a lot of control over the buying process and consumption of information. They determine both the “how” and the “when” of the cycle leading to a conversion. Today, there are a myriad of ways to reach consumers. As the number of applicable platforms … [Read more...] about Seven tools to help you run multichannel digital marketing campaigns

Landing Page Considerations for High Involvement (Education) Campaigns

If you are a PPC professional, you don’t need any convincing on why you should use dedicated landing pages (LP) for your lead-gen campaigns. LPs usually have a higher conversion rate, which means a lower cost per conversion and therefore greater ROI. However, is that always the case? If you are selling something that is of a “sensitive” nature aka, a high-involvement decision or those where the implications and potential risks of the purchase decision have a high emotional impact, then there is a good chance that dedicated landing pages, no matter how well it is optimized for conversion, may not cut it. Our example below is one of those cases. (To clarify, by landing page, I am referring to pages you may have created using a tool such as Unbounce, Instapage and so on). A typical landing page Choosing A Summer Camp For Your Child  Where to send your child for the summer break; it is an critical decision for any parent. You are likely to want to … [Read more...] about Landing Page Considerations for High Involvement (Education) Campaigns
